Jay Qian Jay Qian joined Novaflux Technologies in 2002. He has constructed and tested hemodialyzer reprocessing devices for use in clearance studies to be conducted in collaboration with the Delaware University and for in-house studies. He is performing validation studies at a DCI dialysis unit located at North Brunswick, New Jersey. Mr. Qian is also involved in the development of modules to measure dialyzer’s pressure leak and TCV for ultimate integration into our final hemodialyzer reprocessing device. The device will be used in two clinical studies later in 2002. He was trained as an electro/mechanical and automation engineering specialist. His training included: PLC, CNC servo-control systems, hydraulic control systems, and electronic control systems. He can work with a variety of PLC controls, including FANUC, MITSUBISHI, and FAGOR, as well as general PLC controls. Mr. Qian brings excellent computer skills to Novaflux Technologies. With the ability to render 2D and 3D images on CAD and CAM, his skills are essential in designing systems from initial concept to final product. He is Microsoft Certified System Engineer. Mr. Qian worked at Victor Incorporated from 1994 to 2002. At Victor, he was a designer and programmer of CNC and PLC systems; he also served as a draftsman for many projects, and helped to design many tools and machine parts for several projects. In addition, he is highly skilled in the construction, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of electro-mechanical devices. Prior to his position at Victor, Mr. Qian worked as a mechanical engineer at the Shanghai Maritime Institute in China. There, he worked on turbine systems, specializing in gas turbine compressor design and thermodynamic analysis. Mr. Qian was educated at the Shanghai Jiao-Tong University where he received B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1986.
