| A new class of active compounds for use as HIV microbicides has been discovered by Novaflux Technologies during the past two years. A major research program in collaboration with Pennsylvania State University, Hershey Medical School, is underway to perform pre-clinical testing of the actives developed by Novaflux. We have identified several promising antiviral candidate compounds with high therapeutic indices for this application. We are in the process of submitting a program project grant proposal in collaboration with Penn State to NIH in August 2002. Other sources of funding are being pursued. |
